Paddock Road Outdoor Reveal

Welcome back to our Paddock Road project. We are so excited to share the outdoor spaces of this home, built around Vineyard Decorators’ own collection of outdoor furniture. On the Vineyard, there is a large emphasis on indoor outdoor living, so the collection is perfectly suited for the blend of indoor comfortability and outdoor performance.  

Inspired by modern farmhouse homes, the clients wanted to feel that they were nestled among the trees and surrounding woods. The architecture of the home, completed by the talented team at Sullivan + Associates, creates a secluded backyard which allows for outdoor lounging and dining surrounded by the lush landscaping.

The neutral color palette of the exterior spaces is inspired by the muted tones of coastal materials. Soft greys evoke the cool seawashed appearance of rocks washed up on shore, neutral cushions and pillows are reminiscent of sandy beaches and the property is accented by lush greenery reminding us of coastal dunes. The clients wanted to feel part of the natural environment around them. We achieved this throughout the home in the exterior finish materials and the use of teak furniture. 

Our 2024 outdoor collection includes organic shapes and timeless and refined silhouettes making it versatile for many different design styles. The collection is designed, manufactured and imported by our own team, and available for delivery on Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket and Cape Cod.

Steps away from the stone patio is the screened porch. Perfect for those who want to maintain a semblance of outdoor living all year round, multi season rooms are one of our favorites in the home. Built around an incredible stone fireplace, this porch area gives the comforts of interior living with the functionality to stand up to guests returning from days spent at the beach or poolside afternoons.

Since the interior design themes features wood beams and cabinetry, along with other natural elements to evoke the feeling of bringing the outdoors inside, teak was the natural choice for the exterior spaces of this project.

The Vineyard Teak collection offers refined styling and comfort. Here, we’ve paired it with a faux concrete stone coffee table and slipcovered swivel chairs. The result is a layered blend of materials that are livable and comfortable, without sacrificing an elevated aesthetic.

A firepit with Adirondack chairs is one of our favorite set ups. Nothing elevates time at home quite like getting a fire going- especially when you’ve thoughtfully curated a space for gathering around the flame.

The landscaping design, courtesy of Second Nature Designs, favors grasses and evergreens, creating a palette of muted tones to mirror the natural stone. Over time, teak will weather and patina to a silver grey color, further complementing the naturalistic landscaping.

The organic, curved design of the Soho teak collection was the perfect choice for this seating area to continue the natural theme. Here, we’ve paired the live edge natural teak slab table with the matching Soho dining chair.

While we often choose to mix and match styles in the interior of our homes, the exterior spaces are a place where it may make sense to choose pieces from the same collection. This allows for the architecture and landscape design of the outdoor spaces to remain the focal point and for the furniture to accentuate the beauty of these areas. 

The woven nature of our Azure lounge chair introduces texture and contrast. This organic design features synthetic wicker, which is impervious to cracking and fraying, unlike its interior counterpart, making it perfectly suited for outdoor applications.

Introducing more textured contrast, the Bowline dining chair and the Cyrus faux concrete dining table create an elevated, organic grouping, perfect for dining al fresco.
