Our Cabana Project is all about bold personal style and packaging up summer for year round enjoyment.
From its vantage point across the main house of our Preserves Project, the pool house, affectionately named “Cabana 21” embodies our client’s affinity for bold colors and striking contrast. While echoing design elements from the main house for a sense of cohesion, we fully embraced rich, saturated hues here, creating a space that exudes playful energy.
The Cabana experience begins with a custom penny tile floor, a striking introduction to the design details that unfold throughout the space. Guests are enveloped in comfort with custom embroidered robes, slippers, and hats, all bearing the “Cabana 21” logo, encouraging a seamless transition into a summer state of mind.

One of the first selections was the custom pendant from Dunes & Duchess. The bright orange naturally led us to a deep blue contrast color that we continued throughout the Cabana. The sculptural nature of the light fixture played well with the tall ceiling height, drawing the eye upwards to complement the architectural design of the ceilings.
We kept the pops of color above and below eyeline, grounding the middle with a more neutral tone. The trim package brings emphatic boldness to the design, keeping a more playful feel.

To bridge the connection with the main house, we focused on integrating woven elements to bring a more refined, coastal influence to the space. Through key focal points like the woven window treatments, coffee table and other casegood pieces, we also used texture to maintain the al fresco vibe of a pool house - a place that often blends indoor-outdoor living.
As with all projects undertaken by our Interior Design Department, Cabana 21 was a true client collaboration. We specialize in understanding client needs and skillfully balancing them with the demands of coastal living. This client envisioned a sectional large enough for watch parties, even providing additional sleeping space. It needed to withstand wet bathing suits, sunscreen, and poolside cocktails while maintaining a polished aesthetic. Our team sourced and specified a custom sectional by LEE Industries, constructed with outdoor materials and featuring a Sunbrella slipcover for easy cleaning and a relaxed look. The design, with its throw-pillow-inspired back cushions, offers both casual comfort and the flexibility for rearrangement or sleeping.
All the furniture pieces are intended for outdoor use but offer the look and feel for interior level comfort, ensuring that the space isn’t too delicate to be enjoyed and lived in. Under the tile flooring, radiant heat also allows for more year-round enjoyment of the space.

The powder room was intentionally and carefully designed around the client’s love of starfish. The grasscloth wallpaper was the natural choice to make this space everything the client wanted. Nautical touches are provided from the porthole mirror and the woven sconce. Custom color matched to the trim, the farmhouse sink is painted in Benjamin Moore Blue Grotto.

We believe that even spaces dedicated to rest can be infused with personality and charm. The double twin bedroom offers a playful twist on the rest of the Cabana's design. While maintaining a more refined color palette for relaxation, we incorporated pops of color through a bold rug pattern and custom details like the patterned headboard and bespoke pillows crafted in our in-house workroom.

Our distinctive approach to design focuses on delivering the best possible version of our clients’ design dreams. Are you thinking of an interior refresh? We’d love to help your design dreams come true. Get started today
