Our recently completed Long View project celebrates the art of outdoor living.

Showcasing signature pieces from our collection, Island Imports, Long View sits in an idyllic setting artfully created by the teams at Stedman Construction, Outlands Design, MCLD Landscape and Environmental Pools. Run by brothers Matt and Zack, Stedman Construction specializes in homes that are masterfully thoughtful and enduringly functional.

This sweeping outdoor space still illustrates holistic and thoughtful design practices. We’ve used larger items like in-ground mounted cantilever umbrellas and seating groups, creating ‘zones’ for various outdoor activities but that still feel connected and inviting.

This hand assembled team delivered a stunning outdoor oasis, complete with ipe decking and a full outdoor kitchen overlooking the home garden and ball court, and finally a fire pit to enjoy chilly evenings or long summer nights.

Tim Stewart of Outlands Design crafted the architectural details of this sweeping locale. Attentive to detail and the surrounding landscape, Tim nestled the design of the pool into the graceful slope of the property’s landscape. The client-vision driven team at Environmental Pools crafted a Focusing the landscape design on native plants, Matt Cunningham of MDCL’s design will provide the clients with year-round foliage.

Our exterior spaces are an extension of their interior counterparts and we believe that comfort and functionality shouldn’t be sacrificed for performance. This is the basis of Vineyard Decorator’s parent company, Island Imports.

Founded by owner Whitney Brush, Island Imports began with a singular container of teak outdoor furniture. Over the course of 20 years, Whitney grew Island Imports and developed relationships with factories in Indonesia (the source of teak wood), China and India to craft Island Imports’ signature furniture line - which now includes both exterior and interior pieces.

The cornerstone of the Island Imports collection is outdoor furniture, spanning lounge sets, poolside chaises, dining tables and chairs and accent pieces. By supplying factory-direct pieces for our customers, we provide the highest quality product at the most competitive price. Though the Island Imports collection includes a range of outdoor materials - the keystone of the collection is the teak furniture. Perfectly equipped with the resilience demanded of a coastal environment, teak furniture is the longstanding workhorse of the outdoor furniture industry.

Salt air, high winds and seasonal wear only improves the look of solid teak furniture, its high natural oil content protecting it from cracking and other wood-ailments, making it a mainstay of many coastal exteriors. Starting out in a honey brown color, as teak ages, a grey patina emerges, similar to shingles on a house. While the appearance of new teak is warm and vibrant, aged teak blends seamlessly into the natural landscape of our island.

One of the most popular collections in the Island Imports suite is the Chappy Chaise. Constructed of grade-A, center cut teak, the solid frame of this chaise lounge supports an all-weather batyline sling that is inherently resistant to heat, UV radiation and wear and tear. Available in three different colorways, the transitional design of the Chappy collection fits with a wide range of design styles.

In addition to the Island Imports line, designed specifically for Vineyard Decorators, our showroom also carries outdoor furniture brands Gloster, Kingsley Bate and TUUCI. All of Vineyard Decorators’ merchandise is sold at MSRP and online price-matched - shopping locally has never been easier.

A deck mounted TUUCI cantilever umbrella completes this poolside lounge area. TUUCI umbrellas are constructed in the USA using top of the line marine grade materials. We appreciate TUUCI’s focus on performance and their understanding of the requirements of coastal environments; details that make them a standard in many of our projects. Mounting the umbrella directly into the foundation of the deck provides a seamless look and nullifies the need for a large, sometimes clunky base to support the frame. Especially during construction projects, we advise considering the placement of lounge areas and shade opportunities during the building phase to optimize the layout and flow of space.
