Welcome to our Crocker Drive project, a modern coastal retreat completed on an expedited timeline working from our in-stock offerings.

Working almost exclusively from our furniture store’s stocked collection, we were able to create a sophisticated yet inviting home within the client’s 4-week purchase-to-move-in timeframe. Incorporating a few select custom pieces throughout the process allowed for a more bespoke feel and allowed our clients to furnish the majority of their home in a short period of time.

The clients worked with local real estate agent Carol McManus of C McManus Realty Group on the purchase of this newly constructed spec house. Spec builds are not designed for a particular buyer in mind, so we work with clients to blend existing architecture and finishes with strategically selected furniture and styling to create a harmonious final product.

Furnishing Your Home Through the Furniture Store

While we often work on new construction and custom home projects through our Interior Design Studio, there are times when a client’s budget and timeline take priority over full customization. In those cases, we may encourage those clients to work through our furniture store showroom with a Design Consultant. Projects through the furniture store focus on providing furnishings, artwork, decor, bedding from our stocked collection and layering custom window treatments all within our signature style.

Our furniture store specializes in furnishing homes in our signature style, a modern beach house aesthetic that favors neutral and timeless pieces, hand selected to complement each other and meet the demands of coastal living. Our design consultants are typically new graduates of a university design program or have applicable experience in furniture sales or the design industry. Their role is primarily to sell our stocking program furniture, but utilize a design-oriented mindset to deliver a complete, cohesive home with minimal design fees. Clients may opt for, as in the case of this project, an a-la-carte service for layout and floor plans from our Interior Design Department. Investing a small number of paid design hours for these services provide clients with assurance that we’re proposing the optimal layout of key areas as well as recommending furniture that is appropriately scaled for the space.

A true turn-key experience to transform a blank slate to a modern coastal retreat for the clients to use immediately, when they arrived the home was move-in ready, from artwork hung on the walls, freshly made beds and styled spaces. Modern coastal fuses the clean lines of more contemporary pieces with relaxed materials like driftwood, woven textures and slipcovered upholstery to subtly connect to the surrounding environment.

We used simple silhouettes to complement the modern architecture of the home - the grey-washed flooring and many black accents throughout the home conveying a more contemporary feel. We softened the home with relaxed elements like the slipcovered sofa and dining chairs, opting for linen bedding and natural fiber rugs as well as weaving textural elements in many of the spaces. Keeping to a neutral color palette and adding pops of blue hues ground the home with coastal sensibilities.

Our signature modern beach house aesthetic is prominently displayed throughout our website and furniture showroom.
